Project Manager

 As a key member of our team, you will be expected to: 

  • Aid in the management of all stages of the project life cycle 
  • Facilitate site activities and overcome challenges 
  • Implement health and safety on sites 
  • Provide timely status reports on project progression 
  • Actively participate in construction site meetings, and provide input on the interpretation of contracts, plans and specifications while ensuring that consultants or contractors fulfill their responsibilities 
  • Coordinate between stakeholders, resolve issues, and deliver projects on time and on budget. 
  • Manage the change order process and ensure that the budget is managed accordingly. 
  • Regularly monitor subcontractor performance and address any concerns in a timely fashion
  • Manage employee schedules and time sheets 

 

What we are looking for: 

  • 5+ years of experience in managing the project life cycle
  • Knowledge of related government legislation in the areas of construction, fire codes, occupational health and safety regulations etc. 
  • Strong organizational and construction management skills 
  • Industry knowledge and ability to read blueprints 
  • Detail-oriented and strong communication skills 
  • Ability to interact with a variety of technical and business personnel with courtesy and diplomacy 
  • Must have and maintain a valid G license and vehicle 
  • Must be able to obtain a Government Security clearance

Estimating Coordinator/Administrative Assistant

As Scope of Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the estimating department
  • Scheduling of all tender opportunities and site visits
  • Maintain and update bid list and calendar for bids and job showings
  • Create and maintain all bid folders with all updates/addenda to plans and specifications 
  • Assist with project specific and general prequalification questionnaires 
  • Procure bid bonds as needed 
  • Read, interpret and understand contract drawings and specifications, as well as review project manuals and bid package information 
  • Maintain and improve on estimating templates and processes 
  • Assist with printing and scanning of documents, tender files, contracts, etc. 
  • Order and maintain office supplies 
  • Assists in gathering relevant information from tendering packages and reviewing of tenders to ensure that bid submissions are completed with a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Assist the Estimating team with subcontractor coordination and organization 
  • Deliver bid envelopes when required. 
  • Administrative tasks on occasion or as time allows to assist safety 

 

Skills Required

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be an organized self-starter, possess a strong work ethic, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, great attention to detail, the ability to recognize discrepancies and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Possess a strong work ethic and ability to persevere when challenged 
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills 
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction terms, estimating techniques, quantity take off, blueprint reading, scheduling and planning concepts 
  • Ability to work well under pressure with a focus on deadlines, using initiative and requiring minimal supervision. 
  • Able to obtain a top-secret security clearance

Skilled Labourer

Job Functions

  • Lifts, positions and removes work pieces to assist in material processing, fitting, welding and/or building of structures
  • Load and unload material
  • Operate power and hand tools
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment 
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment
  • Perform other activities at construction sites as directed by the Supervisor
  • Read, understand and comply with company policies and procedures

 

Education/Experience Requirements

  • A high school education, and/or a college degree
  • 2 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

 Skills/Abilities Required 

  • Have basic knowledge of construction 
  • Ability to complete basic math 
  • Ability to apply common sense 
  • Ability to solve problems 
  • Ability to identify health and safety concerns on a work site 
  • Must have a cell phone with data 
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance 
  • Must have a valid Ontario Class “G” license and reliable transportation 
  • Must be able to travel to various sites 
  • Must be able to perform all duties 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs 
  • Must have an eagerness to learn 
  • Ability to perform all duties required as general labourer
